Defund the Media - Publication
Defund the Media is a 25 page printed publication that talks about the dangers of media bias and how to become media literate.

This publication was designed entirely by myself and partly written by me as well.
There is a repeated theme throughout the design of yellow tape which is meant to represent raising caution when it comes to hearing current events on the news or social media.

I incorporated broken glass and tv static into the design a lot. I wanted the reader to continually be reminded that their screens are “broken” in a sense.
The images that are highly edited have major color themes that apply. Within each of those sections, the color changes so the reader knows that they will be reading about something new.
I also incorporate lots of overlaid text. I wanted this to stand out from the body copy and act sort of like a headline for the reader. In some areas, this caused the body copy to be not legible but it only ads to the concept of hearing a headline and not seeing all the facts from the actual story.
